Family can be a vital support system for clients in recovery. However, maintaining a strong family unit can be difficult, especially when a family member is affected by an addiction or mental health disorder. To help repair broken relationships, we offer family therapy to each client in our treatment programs.
Although family therapy can sound intimidating, it does not mean that there are problems within the family. Instead, family therapy works on improving communication skills and conflict resolution, which can benefit all parties in the future.
In addition, research shows that involving families in addiction recovery can improve the outcomes of rehab programs. When clients know that their family is there to support them, they often feel motivated and optimistic about their recovery journey.
