Recovery is a lifelong process, and we stay by your side all the way. Once you have attended treatment at Empowered Recovery Center, you become one of the family–and we’re here to offer you support in the years ahead.
Through our Alumni Program, you can stay connected to the place you got sober. Staying in touch with our staff and other clients can help you remain committed to your recovery journey and recovery goals. It also ensures that you can continue to take inspiration from the journeys of others. Our community acts as a valuable support system if you encounter difficult times—you can always contact us for professional advice or return to our center if you need it.
At Empowered Recovery Center, we believe that staying connected to those on a similar journey to you is important. That’s why we host regular getaway retreats for our alumni to forge new friendships and maintain old ones while participating in fun activities across Georgia.
Your journey to recovery is something to be celebrated, so join us on our range of getaways across Georgia. All our activities and retreats put a strong focus on nature, so you’ll get to enjoy a wide range of scenery during your stay with us. Whether you’re a water baby or love hiking it out in scenic forest routes, take your pick from our selection of getaways below.
Camp out under the stars with fellow alumni and enjoy the scenery of various Georgia State Parks with our camping getaways. Glamp at F.D. Roosevelt or set up a tent at Cloudland Canyon and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
At Empowered Recovery Center, we love to soak up the goodness of nature in all our activities. Getting out into remote locations and immersing yourself in the scenery is a great stress-buster and an opportunity to connect with yourself.
“I arrived at ER completely broken, I’d tried so many times to stop taking fentanyl. All of the staff really supported me and helped me realize that there was hope.” – Bill, Former Client
If you’re a water baby, our lake and beach getaways are perfect for you. Enjoy the benefits of open-water swimming in various Georgia State parks and reconnect with nature. If you’re an adrenaline seeker, take part in our white water rafting trips along Lake Chatuge and Chattooga river.
For those who’d like a slice of the action but aren’t experienced, have a go at kayaking and sailing. Dipping your toes in the water is not only a great way of getting exercise in, but it’s also a major stress-reliever. In fact, studies have indicated a direct link between improved mental health and being near water. Something as simple as walking by a lake is enough to lift your spirits and improve your wellbeing.
As well as water sports, you can also take part in more relaxed activities like fishing. Georgia’s lake country is home to many fishing spots like Flat Creek and Big Lazer Creek, making it perfect for anglers and beginners.
Immerse yourself in Georgia’s lush scenery with our hiking getaways. Explore trails along the coast or hike Georgia State Park’s forested mountain ranges. Some of our previous highlights have included hikes up Stone Mountain and Panola Mountain, where we encountered waterfalls and botanical gardens. From quick five-kilometer hikes to more extensive weekend trails, whether you’re a newbie or a pro, we have a range of hiking trails for you to take part in.
Reunite with old friends and make new ones with our exclusive alumni get-togethers. The reunion is hosted often. It is a perfect opportunity to share your journeys with one another and fill up on inspiration.
Situated at our lodge in Marietta, Georgia, the get-together lasts a full weekend. It includes various activities and events, from game nights and open-mic nights to weekend getaways in Georgia State Park.
“Everyone at ER helped me so much! I’m coming up to six months clean now which I never thought I’d manage. I can’t say thank you enough times!” – Jerry, Former Client
Staying connected to your journey at Empowered Recovery Center and learning from others is a great way to remain committed to sobriety. Whether you’re dealing with something difficult or need a dose of inspiration to push through, our alumni events are ideal.
Some of the many events we host include sobriety workshops, such as 12-step programs, and alumni speaker events where previous members share their stories and tips with the audience.
We also host regular alumni dinners and networking parties to celebrate your recovery journey.
As Empowered Recovery Center alumni, you’re one of the family. We include a year of recovery coaching free of charge for every client. You’re also welcome back to share your experience, struggles, and triumphs at our clinic in the future (by appointment.) Whether you’re up against a particularly challenging time or fear you might fall back into old habits, we’ll give you the support you need to get back on your feet.
Recovery is a life-long journey, and it isn’t always easy. There’ll be good times and bad times. We understand this—that’s why you sharing your experience with us will give you a chance to recharge and see how far you’ve come on your sobriety journey. As someone who has been through rehabilitation, you’ll be a great source of guidance and inspiration to those who have just checked into Empowered Recovery Center.
The journey to recovery isn’t always smooth, and you may experience triggers or cravings from time to time. If you feel like you’re about to relapse, don’t be afraid to seek help. At Empowered Recovery Center, we’ll welcome you back with open arms to our intensive relapse program. Spanning a few weeks, the program can be catered to your individual needs. We offer an outpatient and inpatient relapse program, meaning you can attend as little or as much as you’d like.
Our relapse program combines a range of therapies and counseling, including:
Don’t take relapse as a sign of failure. Acknowledge the fact that you’ve come this far and are taking steps to better yourself. Something as small as a trigger is enough to get you back into old habits, but that doesn’t mean you’re returning to square one. You might find that you just need to make slight changes to your routine or daily activities, and your stay with us will help you identify any triggers or problem areas that you need to focus on.
