Recovery is a lifelong process, and we stay by the patient’s side throughout recovery. Once they have attended treatment at Empowered Recovery Center, they become one of the family.
We’re here to offer people support in the years ahead. Our Atlanta rehab opportunities in Marietta, Georgia, can help set the foundation for a lifetime of lasting wellness.
Through our Alumni Program, a person can stay connected to the place they became sober. Staying in touch with our staff and other clients can help them remain committed to their recovery journey and recovery goals.
In addition, it also ensures someone can continue to take inspiration from the journeys of others. Our community acts as a valuable support system. If someone encounters difficult times—they can always contact us for professional advice or return to our center if need be.
Once treatment is finished, it does not mean we forgo any contact with our patients once they live their life of sobriety. Everyone’s condition is different. When life gets difficult, patients need a support system to get them through the process. Fortunately, our Atlanta rehab offers community support through our alumni program.
Patients are encouraged to develop friendships with those in a similar situation. This allows them to have a connection with someone who better understands their experiences. In fact, the importance of sober support after treatment is great when someone is just beginning their life independent of substances. When someone enters their life without sober support, they may not know where to start or grow connections.
Thankfully, at our Atlanta rehab through Empowered, we maintain connections with our patients to make sure they are settled and get the resources needed to live a fulfilled life. Without sober support after treatment, there is a risk of relapse when life becomes difficult to process. Our support will help patients maintain friendships and connections made at our facility to decrease the risk of possible relapse.
Support after treatment does not mean treatment has not worked. Our alumni program is intended to support our patients while they live their life independently. Patients won’t have to go through sessions anymore, but will have the chance to go through beneficial retreats and activities for continued support and friendships.
At our Atlanta rehab, we at Empowered Recovery Center believe that staying connected to those on a similar journey to them is important. That’s why we host regular getaway retreats for our alumni. Here, they can forge new friendships and maintain old ones while participating in fun activities across Georgia.
The journey to recovery is something to be celebrated, so join us on our range of getaways across Georgia. All our activities and retreats put a strong focus on nature. As a result, patients can enjoy a wide range of scenery during their stay with us. Whether they’re a water baby or love hiking it out in scenic forest routes, they can take their pick from our selection of getaways below.
Camp out under the stars with fellow alumni and enjoy the scenery of various Georgia state parks with our camping getaways. Glamp at F.D. Roosevelt or set up a tent at Cloudland Canyon and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
At Empowered Recovery Center, we love to soak up the goodness of nature in all our activities. Someone getting out into remote locations and immersing themself in the scenery is a great stress-buster and an opportunity to connect with themself.
“I arrived at ER completely broken, I’d tried so many times to stop taking fentanyl. All of the staff really supported me and helped me realize that there was hope.” – Bill, Former Client
If someone is a water baby, our lake and beach getaways are perfect. They can enjoy the benefits of open-water swimming in various Georgia State parks and reconnect with nature. If someone is an adrenaline seeker, they can take part in our white water rafting trips along Lake Chatuge and Chattooga river.
For those who’d like a slice of the action but aren’t experienced, have a go at kayaking and sailing. Dipping their toes in the water is not only a great way of getting exercise in, but it’s also a major stress reliever. In fact, studies have indicated a direct link between improved mental health and being near water.
Something as simple as walking by a lake is enough to lift one’s spirits and improve their well-being. As well as water sports, the patient can also take part in more relaxed activities like fishing. Georgia’s lake country is home to many fishing spots like Flat Creek and Big Lazer Creek, making it perfect for anglers and beginners.
Someone can immerse themself in Georgia’s lush scenery with our hiking getaways. Explore trails along the coast or hike Georgia State Park’s forested mountain ranges.
Some of our previous highlights have included hikes up Stone Mountain and Panola Mountain, where we encountered waterfalls and botanical gardens. From quick five-kilometer hikes to more extensive weekend trails, whether someone is a newbie or a pro, we have a range of hiking trails for someone to take part in.
People can reunite with old friends and make new ones with our exclusive alumni get-togethers. We often host reunions. It is a perfect opportunity to share their journeys with one another and fill up on inspiration.
Situated at our lodge in Marietta, Georgia, the get-together lasts a full weekend. It includes various activities and events, from game nights and open-mic nights to weekend getaways in Georgia State Park.
“Everyone at ER helped me so much! I’m coming up to six months clean now which I never thought I’d manage. I can’t say thank you enough times!” – Jerry, Former Client
Staying connected to one’s journey at Empowered Recovery Center and learning from others is a great way to remain committed to sobriety. Whether they’re dealing with something difficult or need a dose of inspiration to push through, our alumni events are ideal.
Some of the many events we host include sobriety workshops, such as 12-Step programs, and alumni speaker events where previous members share their stories and tips with the audience. We also host regular alumni dinners and networking parties to celebrate their recovery journey.
As Empowered Recovery Center alumni, you’re one of the family. We include a year of recovery coaching free of charge for every client. You’re also welcome back to share your experience, struggles, and triumphs at our clinic in the future (by appointment.) Whether you’re up against a particularly challenging time or fear you might fall back into old habits, we’ll give you the support you need to get back on your feet.
Recovery is a life-long journey, and it isn’t always easy. There’ll be good times and bad times. We understand this—that’s why you sharing your experience with us will give you a chance to recharge and see how far you’ve come on your sobriety journey. As someone who has been through rehabilitation, you’ll be a great source of guidance and inspiration to those who have just checked into Empowered Recovery Center.
The journey to recovery isn’t always smooth, and you may experience triggers or cravings from time to time. If you feel like you’re about to relapse, don’t be afraid to seek help. At Empowered Recovery Center, we’ll welcome you back with open arms to our intensive relapse program. Spanning a few weeks, the program can be catered to your individual needs. We offer an outpatient and inpatient relapse program, meaning you can attend as little or as much as you’d like.
Our relapse program combines a range of therapies and counseling, including:
Don’t take relapse as a sign of failure. Acknowledge the fact that you’ve come this far and are taking steps to better yourself. Something as small as a trigger is enough to get you back into old habits, but that doesn’t mean you’re returning to square one. You might find that you just need to make slight changes to your routine or daily activities, and your stay with us will help you identify any triggers or problem areas that you need to focus on.
Even though patients have gone through detox and treatment programs, sober support is highly encouraged to have after treatment. Living independently from substances is a great achievement, yet a difficult one to maintain. Thankfully, at Empowered Recovery Center, we offer alumni support at our Atlanta rehab for you to get any needed resources to help you through the process of living independently. Additionally, we offer fun retreats and activities for people to make connections or maintain the ones made at our facility who have gone through similar situations. If you or someone you know needs sober support after treatment, contact our Atlanta rehab or visit our admissions page to learn more.
