ERC helped me out tremendously after a relapse.Posted on Google Ryan BleiTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Empowered Recovery Center has truly been a life-changing experience for me. I entered the program last June and remained in treatment for a full year. Throughout that time, I experienced a level of care, compassion, and professionalism that sets this facility apart. My first meeting was with Rob, the Director of Operations. From day one, he made me feel welcome, helped me get settled in, and clearly explained what to expect from the program. Whenever I needed assistance, Rob consistently went above and beyond to make sure I had the support I needed. I was also incredibly fortunate to work with my therapist, Christine. She was exceptional in helping me process my emotions and identify the underlying issues that contributed to my addiction. Beyond our therapy sessions, she was always willing to listen, offer guidance, and provide support whenever I was struggling with personal challenges. The group therapy sessions were outstanding. The facilitators created an environment where everyone felt heard while keeping discussions productive, focused, and meaningful. Their guidance played a significant role in my recovery journey. Having been to treatment approximately ten times over the years, I can honestly say that Empowered stands out as one of the best recovery facilities I have ever attended. The genuine care, dedication, and commitment the staff have for their clients are evident every single day. I want to give a special thank you to Michael, Daniel, and Al. Their groups were incredibly impactful, and their passion for recovery and helping those still struggling with addiction is truly inspiring. They are committed to carrying the message of hope to anyone seeking recovery. Thank you, Empowered, for everything you've done for me. Your support has made a lasting impact on my life, and I will always be grateful for the role you played in my recovery journeyPosted on Google Denise AdamsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Empowered Recovery Center truly changed my life. When I came through the doors, I was in one of the darkest places I’d ever been. The staff met me with compassion, encouragement, and accountability every step of the way. The program gave me the tools, support, and confidence I needed to build a strong foundation for recovery. I never felt like just another client. I felt genuinely cared for by people who wanted to see me succeed long after I graduated. Today, I’m proud to say I’m 280 days sober, and I know Empowered Recovery Center played a huge role in helping me get here. Recovery isn’t easy, but having the right people in your corner makes all the difference. I will always be grateful to everyone at Empowered Recovery Center for believing in me when I needed it most. Family therapy is a very important part of rehab for people with substance abuse problems. Empowered Recovery Center strives to promote long-term recovery and better mental health by educating family members about addiction and strengthening your support system. We offer support groups and other resources that allow the entire family to get involved during the recover process.
It can be challenging to find the time to commit to regular therapy meetings, especially if you’re trying to work or attend college while in recovery. Empowered Recovery Clinic offers flexible teletherapy options and a virtual IOP to work around busy lifestyles to promote the best chances of recovery.
If a person regularly abuses drugs, it can quickly lead to drug addiction. This is especially true for drugs that are highly addictive, such as heroin, cocaine, and prescription painkillers. As these substances are very addictive, the brain and body rely on them. This makes it very difficult to give up drugs.
People who are addicted to drugs will often try to hide their addiction. However, there are some common signs that a person needs treatment for drug addiction.
The signs of substance use disorders can be physical and behavioral. Some symptoms include:
Drug abuse and addiction can lead to many negative consequences. An addiction treatment center must be considered if you recognize any of these signs in yourself or a loved one.
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, some of the health consequences of drug and alcohol addiction include:
Unfortunately, the United States is currently facing an immense drug problem. In 2019 alone, the National Institute on Drug Abuse reported 70,630 overdose-related deaths, compared to 3,329 in 2010.
The number of people dying from overdoses is increasing because of the opioid epidemic. The opioid epidemic began around the turn of the millennium, when some prescription opioids became mass prescribed by doctors. At that time, more people started becoming addicted to opioids.
It can be hard to admit that you need help, but it is very important to do so. At Empowered Recovery Center in Atlanta, we provide complete care during and after drug or alcohol treatment so that you can prevent relapse and have lifelong skills that will help you stay sober.
Yes, at Empowered Recovery Center in Atlanta we allow patients to keep their phones on them. We ask that during treatment sessions though, patients stay off their phones and engaged in treatment to best help their individual recovery.
No, at Empowered Recovery Center we don’t force anyone into treatment who isn’t willing. Treatment is most successful when patients want to get sober to improve their own lives. While we can’t force someone into treatment, we can work with family members to help the patient understand their options for recovery at our addiction rehab facility in Atlanta.
Yes, at our drug and alcohol rehab in Atlanta we require regular testing for both drugs and alcohol. Regular testing for substances is essential for both accountability and safety during treatment.
While Empowered Recovery Center doesn’t directly provide sober housing to patients, we partner with a number of sober housing facilities in the Atlanta area that can provide housing.
If you are hesitant about treatment because you don’t have a stable living situation, contact our rehab admissions team and we can provide some options for sober housing.
At our addiction treatment center in Atlanta we typically recommend patients stay in treatment for a minimum of 90 days (3 months) for the best treatment outcomes. About 50% of relapses occur within the first 12 weeks of sobriety which is why we recommend 90 days as the minimum for long term sobriety and stability.
While we recommend patients stay in treatment at least 90 days, many of our patients willingly stay up to 6 months.
The exact timeline in which a patient may see improvements in their physical and mental conditions will vary depending on a variety of factors. A patient’s age, sex, mental and physical health as well as the substances they used, how long, how potent, and more can affect their recovery and how they feel during treatment.
Many patients may find the first few weeks of treatment the most difficult, especially if they are still experiencing any lingering withdrawal symptoms after detox. Depending on the substance they use, patients may qualify for medication assisted treatment (MAT) which provides ongoing medication support to help reduce withdrawal symptoms and cravings. People with post acute withdrawal syndrome (PAWS), or protracted withdrawal, may experience withdrawal symptoms up to 18 months.
In some cases patients may experience pink clouding, where they almost feel euphoric or overconfident about their new life in sobriety after withdrawal, but then this experience comes to a halt and they feel worse when reality sets in. This idea may be referred to as a “honeymoon stage” in recovery.
At Empowered Recovery Center we offer various group treatment settings including support groups, various group therapies, skills workshops/skills building groups, and more. Some patients might prefer more open groups like process groups, where others might prefer more structured groups like psychoeducational groups. We utilize a variety of types of groups so patients get a well-rounded treatment experience.
Our therapy groups are confidential, supportive, educational, and most importantly, communal. It’s important to remember that your experience in a group varies based on your level of vulnerability, openness, and willingness to participate.
Patients can expect to meet with their therapist for an individual therapy session once per week. If patients have needs in-between sessions, this can sometimes be accommodated as well.
For therapist-led group sessions, patients can expect to participate 1 to 6 days a week. The exact amount of group therapy sessions they participate in depends on the individual patient’s program and schedule. For example, a patient in our PHP may participate in 5-6 sessions each week, while someone in our lowest tier outpatient program may only participate in 1-2 sessions.
Yes, at Empowered Recovery Center in Atlanta we emphasize the importance of family involvement during treatment.
Family can play a vital role in helping patients overcome their substance use disorder which is why we offer family therapy as well as support groups for family members of someone struggling with addiction. Keeping family members involved in treatment can improve treatment outcomes and help family members understand how they may enable behaviors that lead to substance use or identify signs of relapse in their loved ones.
