When seeking help for addiction it may seem overwhelming at first. There are so many different options available, from inpatient to outpatient. You may ask yourself “how long is outpatient rehab?” and that is a valid question. However, not everyone recovers at the same pace. Some need and want a longer treatment plan. That’s understandable. By the time people seek out help, they have generally experienced a lot of broken relationships and damage to their lives as a result of drinking and drugging. Getting all of the help they can, at this point, is almost as enticing as the substances once were. But understanding what all goes into outpatient rehab, how it works, and what is offered can help to make the decision to utilize its benefits that much easier.
When it comes to rehab and the different forms, there are mainly inpatient and outpatient rehab options. Inpatient is pretty much just what it sounds like. Just as if you were admitted to a hospital, inpatient rehab is when you are admitted, for a length of time, in a setting that provides you medical care and stabilization. Now this does not mean you are being held against your will. You voluntarily enter into this type of care, and inpatient rehab can help you to become stable enough to enter into an outpatient program to learn better ways of coping with life, outside of using drugs and alcohol.
Then there is outpatient rehab. During outpatient, you generally attend treatment related activities for a set amount of hours each day, and then return to your regular day to day life. You can still receive the proper care and therapies needed when it comes to drug and alcohol addiction, with minimal disruption to your life.
So how long does outpatient rehab last? It depends entirely on your progress. Sometimes, a longer length of time is needed so that all the tools and knowledge possible are acquired before leaving the structured environment that outpatient offers.
As was previously stated, in outpatient rehab you attend daily groups and therapies. In these groups you socialize with peers, you can share what is going on and get some insight on how others in your position have dealt with the same problems, and you also are provided some one on one time with a therapist who can help you to process and make it through the tougher things you may not want to share with your peers.
While in this level of care, you will be taught different coping skills and new ways of thinking that you probably never thought were possible. The goal of outpatient rehab is to provide an alternative to inpatient rehab where you can still learn all the necessary skills to begin living and building a life in recovery.
When the drugs and alcohol are removed from your life, there are generally some intense emotions and feelings that can arise. Attending an outpatient rehab program can help you to sort these feelings and emotions out, learn how to cope with them, and help you to get through them without picking up the substances again. It is commonly seen, when drugs and alcohol are abruptly stopped, people cannot deal with the thoughts, feelings, and stresses so they return to the very thing that caused them to begin with.
Receiving the proper care as part of the proper treatment plan is very important when trying to gain control of your life again. Now how long outpatient rehab will last is dependent on how well you progress through the program. However, trusting the process will make it seem as though it has flown by in no time at all.
If you struggle with drugs or alcohol, if you question whether your drinking or drug use is a problem, then you could probably benefit from an outpatient rehab. Experiencing financial issues, family problems, loss of jobs, or just general discomfort surrounding your drug and alcohol use and abuse could be indicative of needing some sort of professional help. How long outpatient rehab takes won’t even be a thought, you will just be extremely grateful that you gave yourself the opportunity to go through it, begin healing, and start a new life.

Empowered Recovery Center has truly been a life-changing experience for me. I entered the program last June and remained in treatment for a full year. Throughout that time, I experienced a level of care, compassion, and professionalism that sets this facility apart. My first meeting was with Rob, the Director of Operations. From day one, he made me feel welcome, helped me get settled in, and clearly explained what to expect from the program. Whenever I needed assistance, Rob consistently went above and beyond to make sure I had the support I needed. I was also incredibly fortunate to work with my therapist, Christine. She was exceptional in helping me process my emotions and identify the underlying issues that contributed to my addiction. Beyond our therapy sessions, she was always willing to listen, offer guidance, and provide support whenever I was struggling with personal challenges. The group therapy sessions were outstanding. The facilitators created an environment where everyone felt heard while keeping discussions productive, focused, and meaningful. Their guidance played a significant role in my recovery journey. Having been to treatment approximately ten times over the years, I can honestly say that Empowered stands out as one of the best recovery facilities I have ever attended. The genuine care, dedication, and commitment the staff have for their clients are evident every single day. I want to give a special thank you to Michael, Daniel, and Al. Their groups were incredibly impactful, and their passion for recovery and helping those still struggling with addiction is truly inspiring. They are committed to carrying the message of hope to anyone seeking recovery. Thank you, Empowered, for everything you've done for me. Your support has made a lasting impact on my life, and I will always be grateful for the role you played in my recovery journeyPosted on Google Denise AdamsTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Empowered Recovery Center truly changed my life. When I came through the doors, I was in one of the darkest places I’d ever been. The staff met me with compassion, encouragement, and accountability every step of the way. The program gave me the tools, support, and confidence I needed to build a strong foundation for recovery. I never felt like just another client. I felt genuinely cared for by people who wanted to see me succeed long after I graduated. Today, I’m proud to say I’m 280 days sober, and I know Empowered Recovery Center played a huge role in helping me get here. Recovery isn’t easy, but having the right people in your corner makes all the difference. I will always be grateful to everyone at Empowered Recovery Center for believing in me when I needed it most.
