Narcan, or naloxone, is a crucial tool in the fight against opioid overdoses. This life-saving medication can rapidly reverse the effects of an opioid overdose, preventing fatalities and giving people a second chance. With opioid overdose rates continuing to rise, having access to Narcan and knowing how to use it can make all the difference in emergency situations.
At Empowered Recovery Center, we are committed to supporting our community by spreading awareness and providing vital resources to combat the opioid crisis. This week, we are hosting an overdose prevention and Narcan training event to equip individuals with the knowledge and tools to save lives. The event will be held on Wednesday, October 16, at 11 a.m. and will be led by the Georgia Harm Reduction Coalition.
During this event, participants will receive hands-on Narcan training, learn about overdose prevention, and receive free Hepatitis C testing. We’ll also provide overdose prevention kits and education on preventing and treating STDs. This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who wants to make a positive impact on their community and learn more about saving lives in the face of the opioid epidemic.
