  • Methadone
  • Buprenorphine
  • Naltrexone
  • Acamprosate

Do You Treat Mental Health Disorders?

Yes, at our facility we are equipped to treat patients with co-occurring mental health disorders.

Many people with mental health conditions also have substance abuse disorders (SUDs). For some people, using drugs or alcohol can numb the pain of their mental health disorder. But for others, using drugs or alcohol can make their mental health condition worse. This is called a dual diagnosis or co-occurring disorder.

Examples of co-occurring mental disorders include:

  • Anxiety or Panic Disorder
  • Depression
  • Bipolar Disorder
  • Schizophrenia
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
  • And more

A dual diagnosis requires a specialized treatment program to target substance abuse and mental health disorders.

Empowered Recovery Center has many professionals who can help you if you have a dual diagnosis. Our clinical team can provide specialized treatment to stop your addiction, help you manage your mental health disorder, and reduce the risk of relapse.

At Empowered Recovery Center, you’ll be surrounded by a team of medical professionals to support you throughout drug rehab. Each treatment plan includes:

  • Weekly check-ups
  • And more

We understand that finishing a treatment plan is frequently the first step toward recovery at Empowered Recovery Center. As a result, we’ll give a full year of aftercare to help you avoid relapse once you finish your drug rehabilitation program with us.

Family therapy is a very important part of rehab for people with substance abuse problems. Studies have shown that including the person’s family in the recovery process can help them stay sober and improve their mental health. Empowered Recovery Center strives to promote long-term recovery and better mental health by educating family members about addiction and strengthening your support system. We offer support groups and other resources that allow the entire family to get involved during the recover process.

It can be challenging to find the time to commit to regular therapy meetings, especially if you’re trying to work or attend college while in recovery. Empowered Recovery Clinic offers flexible teletherapy options and a virtual IOP to work around busy lifestyles to promote the best chances of recovery.

What Are Some Signs Of Drug Abuse?

If a person regularly abuses drugs, it can quickly lead to drug addiction. This is especially true for drugs that are highly addictive, such as heroin, cocaine, and prescription painkillers. As these substances are very addictive, the brain and body rely on them. This makes it very difficult to give up drugs.

People who are addicted to drugs will often try to hide their addiction. However, there are some common signs that a person needs treatment for drug addiction.

The signs of substance use disorders can be physical and behavioral. Some symptoms include:

  • Changes in eating habits
  • Lethargy and fatigue
  • Loss of interest in hobbies
  • Secretive behavior
  • Financial or legal issues
  • Missing work or college
  • Constant thoughts of using drugs
  • Trying and failing to stop using a substance
  • Ongoing drug use, even if it causes physical harm or discomfort
  • Continuing to buy the drug even if financial difficulty is experienced

Drug abuse and addiction can lead to many negative consequences. Addiction treatment must be considered if you recognize any of these signs in yourself or a loved one.

What Are The Health Effects Of Addiction?

According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, some of the health consequences of drug and alcohol addiction include:

    • Overdose
    • Kidney damage
    • Liver damage
    • HIV and hepatitis
    • Cancer

Unfortunately, the United States is currently facing an immense drug problem. In 2019 alone, the National Institute on Drug Abuse reported 70,630 overdose-related deaths, compared to 3,329 in 2010.

The number of people dying from overdoses is increasing because of the opioid epidemic. The opioid epidemic began around the turn of the millennium, when some prescription opioids became mass prescribed by doctors. At that time, more people started becoming addicted to opioids.

It can be hard to admit that you need help, but it is very important to do so. At Empowered Recovery Center, we provide complete care during and after treatment so that you can prevent relapse and have lifelong skills that will help you stay sober.
